I'm as tired as all heck

This entry was originally started on Monday at work and finished tonight (today being Thursday), my first night with internet at home. Kidzilla's computer has been up for a couple of days, and it dawned on me tonight that I could get online with my laptop since the wireless network has to be up for her computer to be online. My main PC is still in pieces, but that's okay, I can get online now! Woot!

Getting 4 hours of sleep on a "good" night several days in a row and then staying up for 37 hours straight will wear a body down.

BUT!

We're all moved!

So many annoying things happened with and having to do with the move. I have no idea if I'll get it all down as currently my computer is in pieces and I doubt it puts back together until the computer room is done (I'm updating at work whilst I wait on my boss to come and sign checks). Which Hubby has no sort of ETA for (yes, I dangle prepositions, and they hang out to dry when I'm tired), btw. I'm hoping for this week 'cause he'll be working on the new fencing this weekend. It will So Rock to have a privacy fence! You know, so I can work on my tan in peace. *much rolling of eyes and sniggering*

I will not be cooking for a while. Which, as I'm not that fond of cooking (even though I'm very good at it), you'd think I'd rejoice about, but No. For the first time in living memory I don't Want to go out to eat Yet Again, and would much rather have something at the house, BUT all my dishes and pots and pans are in storage and in the BACK OF THE UNIT. Let's all give Hubby a rousing round of applause for thinking that one through (as he's the one that packed the kitchen and put my Stuff of Life where it is now)! It's going to cost a mint to eat out everyday for every meal! ARGH. On the other hand the steak and eggs I had for brunch yesterday at O'Charley's was Delicious, so maybe it's not All bad. As an aside all my dry goods (boxed stuff, canned goods, spices...) are Also in the back with my pots and pans, so I can't even have a bowl of cereal without having to go buy all new and buying the plastic bowls and spoons to eat it with. Oh, and Hubby says I knew it was happening at the time, so I don't get to fuss and blame him. Yeah, right. Sillie man, like I would allow that to happen if I knew that's what he was doing! Ch! (to borrow a phrase ;-))

Anna and Dragon have no idea what to make of the move and so far think the garage is The place to live and are scared of the door leading into the actual house. Which is fine by me for now as the first thing Anna did when I actually let her roam the new place a little bit was was to get all excited and tinkle on my bed. I kid you not. So it'll be a while before she gets to come back in the house. :-P Dragon has explored no further than the kitchen, and the one time I took her through the house she clung to me like I'd taken her outdoors (I have a cat that is TERRIFIED to go outside, I don't even begin to exaggerate), so she's happy in her box in the garage for now. Civi wants the other two pets to get over themselves 'cause gosh it's a lot warmer out here than in the house so canIcomeinnow? However the other two act saner (more sane?) when she is out there with them (though she's currently the one that barks the most, not fond of the new noises she hears I suppose) so she'll just have to deal with it for now.

An Aside: It is not a good omen to have your boss ask you to help him put his resume on Monster.com and show him how to log in and apply for jobs. And have him apply for three right then and there. I told Hubby I keep thinking one Wednesday he's going to call me and tell me not to come in until Friday (like he did yesterday), and then on Friday call me and tell me not to bother to come in anymore at all 'cause they've decided to close the store. So, as you can guess, moving to a new location did not have quite the revitalizing effect on the business that was hoped. Le Sigh. Though he did call me today and ask me to come in early (10 instead of noon) because he had a bunch of sales and wants me to come in early so he can write some checks before he leaves for the weekend (at 12:30). So I won't be getting that Don't Bother Call this week, but as for next week, who knows? At least I know who to call if this place does go belly up. :-P Actually I have a couple of places I can call, which is nice. Apparently my name gets passed around as someone that can do what I do well, only to discover my current boss doesn't really want to share (even though I only work part-time, he likes being able to call me in any day he likes instead of working around other people's schedule).

Which reminds me, the lady that watches Kidzilla while I'm work is very very ill and might have to go to the ER tonight/tomorrow morning. I could care less about the inconvenience about having to figure what to do with Kidizilla while I'm at work tomorrow, I just hope she's okay. I'm not sure what's wrong as it was her 15 year old daughter that called me to let me know and I was out walking the dogs at the time and Anna had just decided to slip out of her collar (yay.) and so instead of peppering her with questions as was my wont I had to just say, "Thanks for letting me know, tell her I hope she's okay," (yes, that didn't come out the way I meant *sigh*) "talk at you later bye." Rawrgh. At the very least I'll call tomorrow afternoon and I'll drop her a card in the mail (which, if I get it in the mail early enough she'll get on Saturday). Poor thing. :-(
I've decided that Kidzilla will be going to her old daycare tomorrow. Which she will LOVE if Laura is working, so all's well that ends well. In that area, anyway.

Happy Friday! (which it is, technically, lol) No, really! TGIF!

Mosquitoes Love Me

It's a scientific fact that mosquitoes prefer some people over others. I am one of those people. Hubby and Kidzilla are not. Of course. I wondered when it would start this year (the mosquito attack) and it started Saturday. Oh, goody. I only got a couple of bites (I wasn't wearing any Off!-type stuff), but they found me, and I was bitten.

As I live across the street from a river the critters are quite a bit worse here than most of BG. I went out yesterday to spray my rose bush that has been completely denuded by some sort of bug eating the leaves. I'll be lucky if it blooms at all this year, doggone bug. Anyway, I was just out long enough to spray the rose bush and dump the remainder in the pots in front of the front porch on the ground just to make sure I didn't have any ant colonies in them. And got one heck of a bite. Of course.

Mosquito bites (on me) usually itch like mad, I put Lanacane on them, and then they go down to little red bumps that don't usually bother me again. The one I got yesterday? A huge, itchy Lump. I woke up to a knot on my forearm that itched like Mad and was as big around as a half-dollar, and as tall as a stack of 3 or 4 of them. I put some Lanacane on it and now it's just as big as a stack of 2 or 3 quarters and only somewhat itchy.

This is my official notice that summer is nigh in BG.

It is That Day of the month

The first day of Those Days where all women everywhere sing the praises of Eve.
Or not.
At least it's be over on Thursday, and I'll be back to my normal self tomorrow. I haven't been Me since Saturday evening. I think that's the part I dislike the most. Not being me for almost three days out of every 28. I really don't like being crabby and fussy and migraine-y. At least when it's "just" a migraine I can take meds (Huzzah for Modern Pharmaceuticals!) and be me again, but for now meds don't help the migraine enough to make it worth a hoot and even if they did I'd still be grumpy.
*grumps*

Maybe I'm the only one

But surely I'm Not the only one that thinks that Simply Orange is God's Gift to Juice Drinkers Everywhere?
After all, we can't be arsed to squeeze the oranges ourselves! Can you imagine how many oranges I'd have to keep on hand to have my daily 12 to 16 oz glass of OJ?
Oh, the INSANITY!!!

This Man is Full of Crap

How about we put him behind a fence and shot at him with a 9 mil?
Not Guilty my left big toe.

*squees, flails, wibbles*

THEY ACCEPTED OUR BID!!!!!

We go tomorrow morning at 9:30 to sign the paperwork, and then it's up to the mortgage people how quickly we can get this through.
I can't believe it! They took the bid! At $3500 below asking!
*bouncing in seat*
We got it! We're homeowners!
Ahhhhhh!
(I think I'm gonna need a tissue)
Our realtor called me not 10 minutes after I got home and let me know. She was all indifferent sounding so I thought she was about to tell me they didn't take it, but they did! So then I call Hubby! He's more nervous than excited, lol, but he said, "They did? They DID? Our first offer? They DID?!?" lol And then I called Sis B., who was on the phone with Sis K., so I told she could tell her! :-D Then I called my Mom! She's so excited for us, "The first of my girls to own a home! How exciting!" And then I called Sis M.! She was finally home from her appointments this afternoon, and so I babbled at her for a while. And now I'm posting! :-D

A House!

This morning Hubby and I went to look at a house.
This House, in fact:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The owners weren't there, just us, the real estate agent, and their super cute Boston Terrier. His name is Chopper. Isn't that a great name for a dog?
It's small (no bigger in square footage than where we are now, really, and the yard is soverysmall), but we really like the layout (very well set up, great space utilization), and it's in a really Great location (walking distance to Kidzilla's new school, not far from town, nice neighborhood, we're on a cul-de-sac...Kidzilla can finally go bike riding! I can take the dogs on walks! YAY!). So, we put in a bid. Yes, on the first house we looked at the interior, lol. We both realize what a great deal this is because of its location. Houses sell like hotcakes in this subdivision (this one has only been on the market for four days). We really like Where it is. Yes, it's smaller than we were orginally thinking, but the houses in our range with the size we want are older houses that obviously need work (and that's just from what we can see from the outside, scary), and are on scarily narrow roads. We almost got hit driving on the road one of the houses we went to look at yesterday is on. *shudder* Anyway, so we put in a bid, and hopefully we'll hear something this afternoon! Yes, that early! I can hope!

A Bad Sign

Greg: How much is gas runnin' here in BG?
Me: Oh, dunno, last night it was two eighty-three. Why?
Greg: It's only two seventy-two in O'boro. I wonder why it's so different?
Me: Good Grief! I have no idea.

I heard him tell a guy in the store later about it and the guy said, "Wow, that's a great price!"

NO, IT IS NOT.
See, this were people get suckered in! Gas prices are so high that when they do go down it feels like a good price because of how high it was before, BUT IT'S NOT!
Sure, $2.72 is cheaper than $2.83, but it's still Not A Good Price!
Gah! The masses are easily brainwashed!

A Loan, and a (possible) House

We were approved for a loan yesterday! We can't afford what we want (yet), but we got approved for what we could. We both know this is just going to be a starter house for us, but I'm very okay with that. I want to get out of the renting game and start building equity. It's so cool to be able to start looking (if a little bit scary).
Though I spent so much time yesterday online and looking at this thick real estate book the lady at the mortgage place gave me I gave myself a headache. :-P There is just So Much out there to look at and investigate! So, last night while we were driving around looking I asked Hubby if he wanted for me to call one of the people I know that sells real estate and he said, "YES." lol
I know several people at church that do, but this morning I decided to use my friend Susie's real estate lady instead (no worries, Brett, she's CB, lol). I'd hate to offend anyone I know personally by using them over someone else, and besides, Susie told me that Lesli is no nonsense and will tell me like it is, and that's exactly what I want. No beating around the bush. So I talked to her this morning and the first thing I asked her, I asked straight up, "Can we afford a house in the area where we want to live?" She said she would look around for me and not even half an hour after I got to work (I talked to her on my way in) she emailed me with a small starter list to look at. And I really like two of them! Woot!
I'm hoping to look at one of them this afternoon and if it doesn't work for me, I'll see about looking at the other. Even though my first choice is in a subdivision (which we didn't really want), it's in a nice neighborhood, not too far out (which, with gas prices being the way they are, is a good thing), and is less than 10 years old. My only worry is that it'll be too small, and I have to say that the lot is teeny, but that might be okay. I'll just have to look at it to know for sure. :-) Wish me luck!

ERK

Our dream house is up for sale!!!!!
We've both loved this house since we first saw it 5 years ago.
We went driving Friday night down the road it's on just for kicks to see if anything is for sale our there (it's the area of town we really want to live in) and, lo and behold, THE house is for sale!
Hubby said, "It's kizmet-y, the house being for sale the exact same time we're looking to buy."
It's listed on the website for $49,000 more than we were planning on spending, but both of us want to at least try and see if we can get it.
Everytime I think about it, I offer up two prayers: one that we can get it, and another that I'll relax 'cause I'm stressing and my ulcer is doing the watoosie.
A very bad, unrealistic part of me keeps thinking of it as "our" house. Oh, but wouldn't that be so awesome?!?

28 April 2006

Hm.

Hubby asked me today if in a couple of years (or less, I'm sure) would I want to get a full-time job. I know what he's thinking, he's thinking about how both of us working full-time would help money-wise. And he's right, but that brings up an unpleasant point. If I did, then I would be a full-time bookkeeper-type person, and doing it more than I do now is a brain-melting idea. I want to Love my job, not do it 'cause I have to. I know a lot people have jobs they hate and they Have to, but if I don't, should I make myself? What about college? I never have gone and I guess part of me would still like to. But what would I do? I can't major in what I Want because both of the majors I would choose would need to be my Life, and I have a kid and a Life already, I can't dedicate myself like that to either one. I don't want to settle either. I've never been good at that. I just don't know. I don't want to be a bookkeeper/secretary type. It's not my cuppa, no offense to those it suits.
I wanted to be a vet, and just not a vet assistant.
I wanted to be a music teacher. I couldn't be just an assistant to that one, because the college kids that are trying to be music teachers are those.
I did Not want to be a bookkeeper to a small retail store dealing with mistakes from two years ago and a boss that, while nice, can be rather pestersome.
I guess I'm just feeling discouraged. Too many interests, too little time to give to pursue them.

27 April 2006

Validation!

The accountant just came in and told me that I've been correcting the books, well, correctly.
Which is Very Nice to hear, and it's nice to hear him tell my boss that I've been "very smart" in how I've been going about doing it.
I'm still slogging through knee-deep mud, but at least now it has some pretty glitter on the top of it.

At least it's not waist-deep like it was. Whew. Talk about a workout.

26 April 2006

The week was Spring Break

The title of my entry WAS "This week is Spring Break" but Spring Break was the first week of April, and I think we can safely say that it's passed. You know, since it's almost May.
*sigh*
It's been one of those kinds of months at work. You know, where I spend 5 or 6 hours straight working on a computer that when I come home the last thing I want to do is sit down at another one and type some more. What I've been fixing is the first 7 months of the books for the store I'm the bookkeeper for. Why? Because the woman that did them ALL WRONG. Well, she did the inventory all wrong, and as a retail business that sells stuff, that's kind of a big issue. I could go into the NIGHTMARE, but I won't. I have to deal with it enough at work, I don't want to feel that I-want-to-tear-out-my-hair-and-then-go-strangle-her feeling at home. Let's just say it's aggravating and let it go.

April 3-7

Hubby took the week off and so did I. Niiiiice.

Monday: Instead of being veggie-tables, we slept in a bit and then finished moving Sis M. She was at work, so it was just Hubby, Kidzilla, and myself. Which Hubby did NOT LIKE. We got the truck, went to her old apartment and loaded it with what was left that she couldn't fit in her truck or my van (i.e. the appliances and bookshelves and desks...etc.). And remember it's just the two of us. Kidzilla got to carry small stuff left lying around to the van. I'm sure she was thrilled. Then we went to her New apartment and unloaded what was supposed to stay there. This wouldn't be a big deal if she wasn't in a walk-up. So, we had to CARRY up her dishwasher (full of dishes I might add), a large and small bookshelf, two boxes too heavy to lift, her clothes hamper that had been used as an extra box, her computer desk, and the small desk she uses to sew on. We had a dolly, but it was only good for the two boxes too heavy to lift ('cause we could stack them on it), and the dishwasher (which Hubby pulled and I pushed up the stairs) because the rest of the stuff was either too tall or too awkward to bother with using it. Of course, the back entrance was blocked by cars so we had to take the dishwasher, boxes, clothes hamper, and bookshelves up a nearby alley, around to the front entrance, and Then up the stairs. The rest we could manage to carry up the back steps. After all this we went to her new storage unit and unloaded the rest (table, couple of chairs, various lawn items, two rolling trash cans, stove, fridge, another bookshelf...you get the idea). Sis M. was finally off of work at this point and joined us there. After we finished unloading it all we got a little gas for the truck (the needle had barely moved from where it was when we picked it up, but better safe than sorry), dropped off the U-Haul at the after hours drop-off and went home. This was Such a fun way to spend the first day of vacation. This is also EXTREMELY condensed. I'm leaving out the drama. Lots of drama. Yay. 'Cause we all know how much I Love drama. :-P

Tuesday: This was a Great Day. This was one of our Mammoth Cave days. We slept in, got up, had some food and got on the road. When we arrived we bought tickets for the
Frozen Niagara Tour. We were early so we walked the trails a bit before going down to meet the bus that takes people to where the tour starts. Walking the trails (which are worth going for on their own, the park has so Awesome trails) seemed like a good idea at the time. We were early, we love hiking...only, we're Really Out of Shape, and, unless I'm mistaken, we chose one of the steepest trails to do. It wasn't the going down, it was the coming back up that was hard. So it wasn't as great an idea as it seemed at the time. Ah, well. We made it with a little time to spare and listened to the ranger for a few minutes before getting on the bus. Then we walked to the cave entrance, and listened to the ranger Some More. BTW, the tour we were on has around 550 stairs so of course three different families brought little kids with them. There were three kids under the age of three and one looked like he started walking last month. The ranger had this look of, "Oh, this is going to be FUN" on. Yeah, I agreed. We did what we always do and stayed back so we were at the back of the group. We like that because we can take more time to look at stuff without feeling like we're holding up the group (and the ranger in the back of the group never cares and loves when we [okay, I] ask questions) and we don't have to deal with People. You know, 'cause People are annoying. ;-) It was an awesome tour, Very Beautiful, and I was good and only took 85 pictures the whole day. The ranger mentioned before going in that while it's nice to have a camera that can hold a hundred pictures (or in my case 600-800), you don't have actually take 100. And as you have to stop to take each one, it holds up the line, so Please Don't take 100 pictures. Well, I was at the back of the line see, and well, I didn't take NEARLY all the pics I wanted! So, I was good. Yay me! I have some great shots of the inside of the cave (have I mentioned before how much I LOVELOVELOVE the "indoor" setting on my camera?) and some really great ones from hiking. We left MC after that, picked up some KFC on the way home and vegged for the rest of the day.

Wednesday: A veggie-table day. Mostly for Hubby since he so rarely gets time off. He suggested it and I agreed because I felt he deserved a day of not having to do anything at all for any reason. :-) So he played WoW almost all day, lol. I actually didn't spend a lot of time on the computer at all. I let Kidzilla play a Star Wars game most of the morning (she's supposed to be grounded from computer time, but come on! it's vacation!) and then I cleaned up around the house a bit and she supposedly did cleaning type stuff in her room (but I think she just moved some stuff around :-P). She and I went to churchy-church and came home late as I'd forgotten about a special rehearsal we had for the Easter Musical. So we finally came home around 9:30ish and I made dinner. Taco Salad! Yum! I think I ate an entire avocado on my own. I LOVE avocados! :-D

Thursday: Ah, a day of sleeping. Again. Then we got up and got ready to go out (have I mentioned how nice it is to have a kid that will sleep in until 9? and then get herself a wee bowl of cereal and not wake me up until noon? I have the most amazingest kid!), and then Hubby and I took Kidzilla over to a friend's house (the mom is my friend and Kidzilla loves to play with her daughters) and went and caught a movie. We saw V, which he'd seen already and I hadn't. I'd read the book already, and I have to say I like the movie more than the book. There was only one thing that wasn't in the movie that was in the book that I wished had been, but it was a small detail and didn't take away from the story at all. What a hankie movie. Definitely buying it when it comes out on DVD. :-D Then we ran a couple of errands, ran and got Hubby some Jimmy John's, and we went by the house. He stayed there and I went and got Kidzilla as it was time for ballet. After ballet was our weekly dinner at Cracker Barrel with Sis M., and then home and bed for Kidzilla and vegging for me. Another nice day. :-)

Friday: Another drive to Mammoth Cave after we finally got up and had some food. :-) It was raining cats and dogs on the drive, which we thought was great 'cause we figured that would mean less people. How wrong we were! As we drove up the last of the drive to the Visitor's Center it started to hail. Okay, so it was more than just raining, but we Love that kind of weather. Hubby pulled as close as he could and Kidzilla and I ran for it. Not two steps from shelter I get beaned in the head with hail. Just one, but it was a big 'um, and it HURT, even through my hat. I had a bruise! Just thinking about it makes my head twinge there again in memory, lol. We go in, and find out that they're not selling tickets because of a tornado warning/watch thing. Oh, great. I turn around and try to leave the ticket area so we can find Hubby but they won't let me leave the room. ?!?!?! I was SO ANGRY. My husband is out in that mess, and then he'll walk in to a Mass of people not knowing where the heck we are, and I'm supposed to just "stay put". I came very close to slapping the man for not letting me find him. I know he was just doing his job, but I was obviously worried about my husband. There was no need to be brusque and rude and almost condescending to me. Give it up, old dude. You're just a park ranger. I clenched my fists instead and Kidzilla and I went to the front of the room where they sell the tickets and I leaned against the counter waiting (occasionally rubbing the welt under my hat). They were herding Everyone into that room, and not letting anyone leave. Joy. A mob of jabbering, damp people crowded into one room. Hubby is supposed to find me HOW? Anyway, he came in and found us and we stood there listening to old ranger dude go on and on about the weather.
One thing that killed me. These ranger types have obviously never studied or thought about mob rule. You have a room crammed with wet, nervous people (well, 90% of them were, Hubby and I and the rest of Kentuckians that were there are used this sort of thing, and just rolled our eyes at it all), so the last thing you should do is amp up the tension. So what do they do? Set all the computer monitors to a weather thing that tells everyone that can see it all about the terrible weather. Oh, good. Let's make them even More jittery!
Fabulous.
So, this being KY, this all blew over in about 10-20 minutes and they reopened the tours and the ticket lines. And as we were right there at the counter, we found out that the tour we wanted was sold out. In fact ALL the tours were sold out except for one we did already a couple of years ago. I find this out and then find out that we could've made reservations for tickets. Which we didn't know 'cause the web site didn't mention this. So the
tour we wanted to go on was sold out long before. Figures. Ah, well, we know for next time. By this time the rain and hail had gone down to a drizzle, so we went hiking on the trails. We went a different way, much longer this time since we didn't have to be back for a tour. And, since I'd left the camera in the car because of the rain, of course I saw a ton of things I wanted to photograph, lol. Well, I always do, but this time we saw a small herd (4) of white-tailed deer! They let us get So Close! It was amazing, so of course no camera, lol. It was a great walk in spite of the dripping and occasionally light shower. We had a lot of fun just spending time together walking. Of course we were totally pooped when get finally left the trails after three hours, but none of us minded. We came back to BG, grabbed something to eat on the home, and called it a day.

A long post and this is just Spring Break week! But I wanted to get it all down before I forgot it all, lol, I know me. I have plans to post pics, but who knows when that'll happen. Again, I know me. ;-)

28. If you could go back or forward in time would you and where would you go? As an avid archeology buff, I don't even know where to start!

29. What is your favorite Harrison Ford movie? Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

30. What CD is in your stereo? A CD Hubby made of music he labeled "Current Cool", it's a great CD, I've beenlisteningg to it for months and I'm not tired of it yet (guess that makes it not so "current"...)

40. Favorite musician(s)/bands you've seen in concert? Not my favorite, but I saw Type O Negative once. I saw Marilyn Manson from so far away he about an inch and half tall, so I don't count that. As for my Favorites? None. How sad is that?

41. Have you ever been in love? Still am

42. Do you talk to yourself? Constantly, but I only do it out loud when I'm home by myself

43. Is there anybody you just wish would fall of the face off the earth? Not that I can think of off-hand

Pointless

I am currently so upset about something my heart is pounding and there is a physical ache right behind my breastbone.
I'm done crying, just left with hurt and a state of bewilderment.

No, I don't want to talk about it.

Sorry.

Just.

No.

*sigh*

I Paraphrase

(because I have a crappy memory, you know)
"If I had it all to do again, even knowing how little time I would have with her, I would. That's what love is, Sam."
- Jacob to Sam, Stargate SG-1

I feel like looking up the exact words so I can print it up and put it on my wall.

"If I had it all to do again, even knowing how hard it would be, I would."
- Me

I told my mom on Saturday something I'd told Hubby a few weeks ago. That when Hubby and I got married at 18 we thought we knew what love was. We didn't (we were 18! what did we know?) but we thought we did. But now, 10 years later, we do, and we love each other more and more as time passes. It's such a great feeling to fall more and more in love with my husband. We've both grown up and changed, but I like to think that over the years we're bringing out the best in each other. It's hard to tell sometimes where he starts and I begin. And I love that.

Note to self:

NEVER CUT MY BANGS WHEN I'M IN A HURRY.

A) They end up a little shorter than I like.
Bah.
B) I spend the next day or so trimming the ones I missed.
ARGH.

*squares shoulders*

*I walk into the computer room, wrapped up in a warm fuzzy blanket with a lovely American Indian design on it*
Me: I feel like a squaw.
Him: Yes, you are squa'.
Me *laughing* No, not square, Squaw.
Him: Squa' in the nuutz!
*I roll my eyes and stand tall*
Me: I have the broad shoulders, long, straight hair, straight nose, high cheekbones...*laughs* Only I'm the palest squaw there ever was. Darn my Welsh and Irish heritage! *laughs and grins* (I'm Welsh, Irish, Cherokee, and Choctaw, you see...)
Him: Poca-caucasian-as!
*I burst into laughter, laughing so hard I have to prop myself up, hands on knees to keep from collapsing to the floor giggling*

It's Aliiiiive!

Actually, my computer was fixed the day after it died, Hubby just didn't tell me. :-P
But then, after he did (which was After I was gone a 4 day trip), he took it all apart and then put it back together (this was like a three day project, no, I don't know what he did, but it did involve a soldering iron...), and now it's been sitting here waiting for me the last two days.
But I told myself I would be good and not sit down at it until my desk was all clean. Which lasted as far as seeing a little bit of the surface of my desk and enough room to sit on the edge of my computer chair then I caved. Well, for a moment. This will be my only moment of weakness until it's done.
Really.
Mostly I'm currently weak because the internet at work is down because the phone company has already connected the lines at the new location but the computer isn't there yet so I'm in WITHDRAWALS. I think I clicked the IE button about 10 times today forgetting that nothing would happen when I did. I'm so spoiled! Work is unbearable without the internet! Things actually get done quickly! Oh, the HUMANITY! ;-P
I've sorta been keeping up with my email via webmail but still, I had 25 emails from LJ waiting for me and over 80 in my regular email inbox. Which is just CRAZINESS because I've been going through about every other day and deleting the stuff I already knew I wouldn't want to keep. Granted, I've not gone through my email since last Friday as I've not been able to get a computer since then (busy weekend), but still! Though, on the other hand, I can't even imagine how many I would've had waiting for me if I hadn't been doing the webmail thing... *shudders*
Anyway, my computer's back! It's faster! Yay!
Hopefully I'll join the realm of the frequent posters (or as frequent as I get for me) once again when my desk is all clean. :-)

Buying a van was a good idea because....?

Gas was $2.56/gal yesterday.
It went up $.20 cents from That Morning.
I paid $47 to fill up the van.
Urk!

Kidzilla killed my computer on the 5th

And it's still dead. Not because we don't know what's wrong, but Hubby's been on call so it's still dead. I'm so glad I have a laptop! Hee! Now, if only I had time to use it... I turned it on long enough yesterday to check the bank account and do an online rebate. And then, I went to bed.

Last Tuesday (or was it Monday...yeah, I think it was Monday) my sister's van died. Luckily was an easy fix (well, for the mechanic, anyway), and it only cost $13. Woot!
The one time I drive off without making for sure for sure that she was getting on the road okay...yep, I feel guilt. Though, on the other hand I got to have the day off to drive her around and we stopped by a local shoe store and her size (yep, only her size) was on sale 50% off! So, it wasn't all bad. And I got to gorge myself on taco salad that night (which doesn't happen a lot at my house, taco salad isn't one of Hubby's favorite foods, but it is mine). Silver Linings!

I'm updating from work (as all my posts have been since the 5th), which is why I post but not comment on my flist (I'm so behind on my flist...if I tried to do that, I'd not get any work done). Which is also why I've not replied to comments on my posts. Please don't stop 'cause y'all think I don't love you! I do, and I love comments, just don't have the time to do a quickie post AND reply to comments AND read/comment on my flist. However, I do want to post Something so posting wins. ;-)

One Last Thing: I LOVE RAINSTORMS. Today it's So Nice out! Warm, rainy, a bit windy... Here in BG that means everyone stays home but that means I go out and do stuff 'cause I'm lovin' the weather. :-D And I'm wearing sandals! At last! A day warm enough to wear them! I painted my toes red this morning (which I NEVER DO), but I felt like matching my OCC tshirt I'm wearing today, lol. If I can remember I'll post a pic later.

ttfn!
(this was written in a tremendous hurry, please forgive spelling and grammer errors, lol)

A Glimpse of Us

*my cell vibes, I pick it up and see it's Hubby and answer it before R2-D2 can begin to screech*
Me: Greetings, Earth Man!!
Him: BABBERDON!
Me: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *laughter finally trails off* We are So WEIRD!
Him: *laughter of agreement* Babberdon! Babberdon!! BABBERDON!!!!! *hangs up, laughing*
Me: *goes back to working, chuckling*

A Conversation

Andria: Am I the only person that gets cravings for V-8?
Russ: yes, yes you are
Alexandria: LOL
Alexandria: This how bad it is: I bought a can of it this morning at Wal-Mart, "Mmmmm, V-8 sounds GOOOOOD". I brought it to work to have with lunch. However I've barely been able to put it down long enough to actually eat said lunch.
Alexandria: It's GOOOOOD
Russ: ummm, this is where we are going to have to differ
Alexandria: ROFL

Yes, yes I am Wierd. Why do you ask?

I just had to share

I took this sitting in the parking lot of O'Charley's the other day (if you can consider the 26th "the other day"). I'm rather pleased with how it came out (considering how hard it was to get a shot of the wee bird as it wasn't at all interested in being still for longer than a half second, lol), and I wanted to share. (no, I didn't resize it 'cause I wanted y'all to be able to see the detail, especially the feathers. so pretty!)

An actual post!

  • Saturday Kidzilla hurt her knee very badly in a slip/fall on a trampoline at a friend's house. Landed it on it sideways, stretched a ligament. No tears or rips or anything of that sort, Thank Heavens. My girl hurt so much. :'-( She didn't get to sing in the musical the kid's choir was doing Sunday night. Which means she didn't get to do her first solo. I think I was more upset than she was. I told her there's always next time (and with her, there will be, lol), and she seems fine with it. She's been to school everyday this week. Very tired (not surprising) every afternoon. She is, in fact, napping at this moment so she won't be too tired for TeamKid tonight at church. Today is the first day she's been able to put any sort of weight on her foot. She was so excited that after school when we came home she hobbled up the steps to the front door without using her crutches. :-D I'm so happy she's better!
  • The Handbell Festival last Friday/Saturday was a lot of fun. And I learned a lot about handbell technique which was very cool. I had a great time. I can't wait for next year! (I have pictures but I've not downloaded them yet. and it's not like I'm great at posting pics anyway... *sigh*)
  • My computer died on Sunday. Kidzilla was playing WoW and it just turned itself off. It wouldn't come back on. Joy. I told Hubby (you know, since I'm so knowledgeable about these things) that I thought it was the power supply, and he agrees. However his workbench in the computer room is buried, so he doesn't have room to work on it. Of course. So he's made his task this week to clean it off so he can fix it (well, when he's not working, he's on call. and not just put everything on it in a box for later, but actually Clean). So I have no idea when my computer will be fixed, lol. But at least I have my laptop to use!

Well, I have an errand to run before church tonight, so I'm off!

I do live

Sorry about the spotty commenting on posts, y'all.

I haven't posted since the 19th. Well, if I don't count that thing I posted that Nobody Did (well, except for Kim, thanks, Kim! *hug*) *hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

*cough*

Lessee.

As far as I can remember (which isn't saying much) last week was a normal week. And that I didn't post anything for HNT last Thursday because I forgot about it until Friday, lol.

Went down to my mom's Friday afternoon and came back Saturday night. Had a good time with Sis B. and her little 'uns and me mum. Sis K. was supposed to be there but was a no-show due to car issues. We went shopping Saturday and I bought an OCC shirt (I now have two! heehee!) and a pair of jeans that I'm sure Hubby doesn't really care for, but I love 'em and bought 'em anyway. Hey, they were 50% off! I had to! lol

Handbells played Sunday in both services. We were much better the second service than the first (and I'm told no one could tell I messed up in the second song, lol). I played both songs with no mistakes for the first time ever in the second service. Yes, I know that's sad, but then I cut myself some slack because my errors always occur at a page turn and since no one shares my folder/stand with me, I have to play and figure out where to turn the page all by my lonesome. It's...trying...sometimes. I love playing handbells though! I'm so happy Anna loves it as much as I do and decided to become the director and revive the choir. :-D

I did talk to the minister of music that afternoon about the piece he wants me to learn to play on my tin whistle. It's not hard, but the tin whistle has NO NATURAL FLATS (and the piece has THREE). I can play them, but they sound, well, God-Awful. *cackles* I crack me up. Anyway, I told him about it and that I need to find an arrangement in a different key and he said he'd take care of it! Yippie! Now only if Anna and I could find a piece to play...hmm...maybe I should mention that she wants to play with me (she's an AMAZING piano player, I'm so honored she wants to play with me!) and he could find a piece that's a duet. A thought!

Monday was just a day. So much better, just some lingering stuffiness that only manifests itself when I sing (OF COURSE), but still feeling tired. Bleah. So I didn't do my Monday Stuff, just cleaned the kitchen and put away the laundry I did Sunday night.

Today was So Nice. First of all I didn't have to go to work, which was nice. I met my friend Melissa at Keri's house. Keri is the wife of the Student Minister at our church. Before today I'd had a grand total of One conversation with her, and it was last summer and it was about shoes, lol. (Well! She has these totally cute white shoes for summer and I've looked All Over BG for some I like with no luck! Of course, she didn't get them here, and I don't think even if I went to where her mom lives they'd still have them. Not even back when I asked. Fiddlesticks.) Melissa had to leave around...I think it was almost noon. Keri and I talked until 2! I discovered she's older than I thought she was (I thought she was younger than me, I was off by 5 years, yay her for looking so young! I should tell her that :-)), and that she and I have a lot more in common than either of us would've ever thought. Not as much as Melissa and I (thank heavens we don't look alike too! lol), but quite a bit. We took turns chattering at each other the whole time. :-) The three of us are going to start getting together every Tuesday (when we can) to talk, have coffee, and share prayer requests and pray with and for each other. Keri mentioned to Melissa a couple of weeks ago at the 4x4 reunion that she would love to something like this. Melissa lit up (I could see it from over where I standing stirring a mound of sugar into my coffee), and pulled me into the conversation. She and I did the same thing for a little while last fall, but in between sickliness and holidays we ended up having to let it go. She and I have mentioned to each other that we would like to start doing it again, we just haven't gotten around to it. We talked for about 5 minutes before agreeing that meeting at Keri's house would be easiest (she has two kids and watches a baby during the day), and that Tuesdays at 10:00 would be the best time. :-) I woke up with a migraine last week and didn't go. A migraine on top my sickliness...I knew I wouldn't be good company, so I called Melissa and told her I wasn't going to be able to make it. We figure the first few weeks will just be getting to know each other. Talking about ourselves, our lives, and where we've come from. This is going to be so great.

Okay, that's all for now, y'all! I really should go to bed!

Ooooo.....

I'm using my new laptop.
Yes, finally.:-D
Trying to get used to an LCD screen is well, trying. At least the keyboard is a reglular-size keyboard, otherwise I might lose my mind. It's pretty. It's nice. The screen is driving me batty.
On the other hand I adore my bluetooth mouse. :-D
Today was nice. Church, lunch with Sis M, Kidzilla, and my friends Melissa and Bobby and their young 'un. A 4x4 thing at three that I went to 'cause Sis M. was sweet and took Kidzilla to B&N so I could go and then brought her to her choir practice. Then hanging out with Melissa and her guitar and my tin whistle while we played together for a little bit. Only to discover my flute is out of tune. :-P And of course it's one of the ones where the mouthpiece is glued into place. Urk. I'm going to Have to take my good tin whistle fixed. One of the wee nieces squished it on a visit and it's not played right since. I'd rather get a nice new one...but then again, I love the one I have. It 'twere a gift from Sis M. Maybe I'll do both, lol. I know they come in purple now...hehehe. After church I came home and made dinner and now Kidzilla's in bed and I just finished making us cupcakes.
Yes, at this hour.

Watched some of the Olympics tonight. I watched some of the women's speed skating and the ice dancing. I wept when that one skater chick fell (she was wearing white, I have no idea what her name was). Such a good performance to fall right at the end. It broke my heart. I wept after the USA's performance. They did so well, it was such a great moment. I cry when someone doesn't do well, I cry when they do. Tears of heartache and triumph. I'm such a sap. ;-)

Watching The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen at the moment. I think I'm the only person that really likes this movie, lol. Watching Sean Connery always reminds me of my little thing I have for older men. ;-)

Sickness and HNT

Did you know if you forget to put the "l" in blogger.com you'll go here? Oh, yes, you will.

So. Where have I been? My last post (if you can call it that) was on the 8th. Since then the play has happened (it went Fabulously!) and I've been sick.
Yes, that really is it.
One show Friday night, two on Saturday and one on Sunday. Hubby went to the first one, my friend Laura and her little girl went to the matinee on Saturday, my mom and Sis M. went to the one Saturday night, and I went to the one on Sunday. Hubby's mom sent Kidzilla a Lovely bunch of flowers (roses, daises, and Peruvian lilies) that arrived on Friday. No, I don't have a picture, but only because I keep forgetting to bring in my camera. Which means I don't have any of Kidzilla yet either. Y'all will just have to suffer until I get around to it. >:-D

Side note: It's in the upper sixties here today. LOVELY. My daffodils started blooming on Monday. It's supposed to snow on Saturday. Of course.

When I remember to bring in my camera, I'll post more about the play. And don't let me forget to tell you what happened to my sunglasses. I'm still annoyed.

I've barely had enough time to sit down and make sure I hadn't missed any important emails, let alone sit down and post about stuff. And then I was sick. VERY SICK. As in, bedridden for two days with horribleness and a fever sick. I'm so thankful I don't get sick very often. I don't like it At All. I'm still sick, but no longer contagious so I went back to work yesterday and today. I actually feel some better today. Though, on an annoying note, my sinus congestion has turned into a sinus Infection since the fever went down. How annoying is that? :-P I've taken my colloidal silver yesterday and today, so the yellow should be gone by tomorrow. Bleah. If you want to know what I sound like sick, just check out my voice post from the 12th and my voice post from the 14th. I'll figure out how to do voice posts on blogger some other...year. I still sound crappy and can't sing (which is the most annoying part of not being able to talk), but according to Sis M. I sound a lot better.

Now, on to HNT. I didn't post anything for HNT last week 'cause it was too crazy busy.

My foot in a dress shoe. You can also see puppy toes in the pic. At the time (over a year ago) I'd just gotten my little Anna. She was So Cute trying to figure out what I was doing, lol.

Snow White has nothing on me. In the summer I get tan lines on my foot from wearing my sandals All The Time. Hm...maybe that would be a fun HNT this summer?

I still have the original photos, but these are already in photobucket and I don't have the time to find and upload the ones without the date on them. Sorry guys! Gotta run!

A Day of Food

I forgot to eat breakfast.
Oops.
But! I did remember to take lunch to work with me (YUM! turkey and American cheese lunchable!), and I had that.
Though what I really wanted was a bowl of the chili that Greg brought to work yesterday. It was spicy. It was good. Yes, even though it had noodles in it. I can forgive noodles if it's spicy. Alas, it was all gone.
However, I was STARVING by 1:30.
I came home from work. Kidzilla arrived. I had a snack of popcorn around 3ish.
I was STARVING at 5:00.
At 5:30 I downed an entire Snickers bar in about 5 minutes.
Rehearsal was Finally Over at 9:30. We hadn't gotten to act two, but the kids needed to go home. Thursday we're starting the play run-through at 7 come heck or high water. We'll have people watching that night. I hope it goes well. I usually have no idea. I'm downstairs in the green room keeping the small people from making too much noise so I don't get to see the play. Though I WILL watch at least one performance doggone it. :-P
We picked up bad-for-us food (Wendy's) on the way home. I had that eaten in less than 15 minutes after arriving at the house. That includes drinking All of my root beer.
Now it is time for bed (okay, has been for a while), and I'm STARVING.

No, I'm not preggers.

I am, however, broken.
Though, on the other hand, this hopefully means my metabolism is picking up. That would be nice.

My Blogger Life

I won't be posting much (like I've been doing a lot of that lately), and commenting even less (like I comment tons now, sorry about that) for the next week or so.
I usually have a lot of time on my hands at night to post and comment when Hubby's out of town (he left today for a week in Dayton), but not this week.
Because of Kidzilla's play, I literally have something going on Every Day this week. Right up until next Sunday night, which is the last performance.
Today we moved into the theater for our first rehearsal there. It went very well for a first run through on the stage. A couple of prop swords were broken, but easily fixed. Not all the props are completely done (the Witch's sleigh was too damp with paint to use yet, for example), but all will be done in time.

The Capitol has no backstage or wings to speak off (not really). The green room and dressing rooms are in the basement down a small flight of stairs, a landing, and a small flight of stairs. This means that the kids have to be very quiet when they're downstairs because you can hear it out on the stage (and thence, the audience) if they're not. Guess who has the charming job of keeping them quiet? Ah, yes. Me. The responsible adult. Oh, hush with the laughter and giggling! CoolTeenager#1's mom almost slid out of her chair giggling at me when I told her that. I get the feeling that some people don't find me to be terribly responsible. :-D Really though, I didn't have a lot to do. CoolTeenager#1 and CoolTeenager#2 took control and played quiet games with the kids like "Wax Museum" to keep them entertained until time for them to go on stage. Maybe I'll bribe them with Starbucks tomorrow to do the same thing so I can go upstairs and take pictures from the wings during tomorrow's rehearsal. ;-)

Anywho, it's late, and I'm tired (I got 5 hours, dunno why I'd be so pooped). Busy week. I have a lot I want to get done, and busy, busy nights.

Bullet Point

  • You know you're in a hurry when you drop your kid off for school and then when you get back home you realize you don't even remember what she put on that morning to wear. (Well, besides jeans, she's like her mom, wears jeans everyday except Sunday.)

HNT

Hm. I felt really nekkid last week with my face pic...but compared to this week? That was sooooo nuthin'. This week, I've decided to take a pic of my hair. Why? Because it's long (Very Long for me) and I'm going to be cutting it off to my shoulders in about a month. Why not have a shot or two of it for posterity? If posting them to the internet can be considered posterity... The big deal I took the pics with my shirt off. *gasp!*
This is the most nekked I will ever be, Internets. I am extremely body-shy!

*wonders how horrified the Sis.'s will be at this week's pics...*

Be Proud

I went shopping on Monday.
Yes, this Is an event, because as I go shopping at least once a week, it's never for me. I went shopping for me on Monday. This is News.
Not only did I go shopping, but I bought things that Weren't On Clearance.
This is even bigger news than me going shopping because even when I do go shopping for me, I usually will only buy something for me if it's on sale.
So, I went shopping. I went out in search of new boots (as I've worn mine out, as I do every winter) and new jeans (as I've gone down in size enough that I gave away all my now too big ones because they were just ANNOYING to wear, but that meant I was left with only one pair of jeans. and jeans are All I Wear, so I need more). I found some boots in the first place I looked (HUZZAH!) and they weren't on sale! *gasp* And I bought them anyway! *gasp!* I tried on a pair of jeans (they only had one pair I liked) there too! I bought them! *gasp* And they weren't on sale! *gasp!*
Granted, I was at TJMaxx, so take all this as you will. ;-)
But still!
And, because I was at TJMaxx, I couldn't leave without looking at socks (they have tons of socks with designs on them, and I'm weak about cute socks). And I left with two pairs of socks for me (one pair is angora, oooooooooooooooo, angora socks, s'nice in my new boots), and a pair for Kidzilla. :-D

Though, I have to say, the jeans I bought, while Very Nice, have 1% spandex in them. I've had "stretch" jeans in the past and didn't like a single pair of them. I was hoping the 1% wouldn't drive me crazy...but it is. *sigh* I'll give them more time before I decide. And if I don't like them, hopefully I know someone that wears my size.

And I found something for my mom for Valentine's Day while I was there. And I found something for me, but it was broken (chipped corner) and still wasn't marked down even though it was damaged. And I'm not about to pay $35 for something that's broken. :-P Though, it was clearanced out, I would've, lol, 'cause I could've put it in a frame and hidden said damage. ;-)

*squees*

I won THIS on eBay! It should be here in less than a week!

But!
Even better!

I NOW HAVE A LAPTOP!!!!!
(excuse the all caps, but um, I'm all excited and such)
It was ordered last Saturday, and should get here in less than two weeks (I checked the order status this morning, it should be here by Friday *SQUEE!*). It's a Dell, and I won't babble about what all I got put on it. Well, Hubby what did, I just nodded and agreed with him as he's the real computer person and I'm...well, I'm really not. I only know a little more than the Av-Er-Age Bear. He just wanted to make sure I was happy with it.
OF COURSE!!
I'm getting a laptop!
It's like my birthday came three weeks early, hehehe.
It has Bluetooth, so I told him what I want for my actual bday gift is a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. :-D

My day was TOTALLY made

Short and sweet.
I could babble endlessly (or at least, for a long while) about these two cool teenage girls that are in Kidzilla's play and how they actually seem to not only like me but Seek Me Out as a Cool Adult.
DUDE. That TOTALLY ROCKS.

A cute side note: Two or three rehearsals ago one of them gave me their number and said, "If you never need a babysitter for Kidzilla, call me. She's Awesome, she totally reminds me of me at eight." Which I LOVED 'cause if Kidzilla grows up to be like her when she a teenager...wordscannotexpresshowCOOLthatwouldbe. Anyway, last night Kidzilla sidled up to me and said, "Daddy will be home from his trip tomorrow night, Mommy. You and him should go do something special together." I looked at her, wondering where this was going. "Uh, huh...?" "You know, 'cause then CoolTeenager #1 and CoolTeenager #2 could watch me." She gave a shy smile. I almost fell out of my horribly uncomfy metal folding chair with amusement and cuteness overload. I told her sorry, no, we're going to spend time together as a family. She pouted for second but then was called over to practice one of her fight scenes. CoolTeenager #2 came over and sat down with me and I told her what Kidzilla said. "Awww!" she blushed. "That's so Cute!" I grinned at her. It never hurts to let a teenager know that they're liked. :-D

Anyway, while the CoolTeenagers were hilarious and puppy-like in their enthusiasm (:-D!), what just completely made my day was figuring out why my pictures on my new camera weren't coming out like I expected. I couldn't get a clean shot of action for anything. Sure, sometimes it's cool to have blurry to show the movement, but that's not what I was wanting at all. And for the life of me I couldn't figure why most of my pics came out so bluzzy around the edges. It was DRIVING ME MAD. I knew it had to be the ISO settings (Hubby had messed with them at one point and I figured he didn't change them back), but I just hadn't had time to pull out the book and read through it and figure out how to get to them and fix it. I was sitting across from the guy playing the Professor at the time. We talked about our cameras, and the play, and I teased him about how his accent was finally becoming less Transylvanian and more British. He and I usually talk some at rehearsals, he likes my dry comic asides to things happening in scene and I like not only having someone laugh when I try to be funny but someone that's intelligent and can hold up their end of the conversation. Anyway, he was watching the kids run the scene yet again and I was fiddling with my camera. "Ah, HAH!" I quietly yelled. He almost jumped and looked at me. "I figured it out!" I crowed. I explained to him my frustrations. "Yeah, that would be very annoying," he agreed, chuckling at me. "This has TOTALLY made my whole day," I said, almost dancing in my seat. His grin got bigger and he laughed some more. I looked at him and smiled and cocked my eyebrows at him, mock stern. "It's the the little things that make me happy." And I couldn't help it and grinned 'cause that's completely true. He laughed. "Yeah, it's always the little things," he agreed.

Not for the Timid

Oh, meep.
It's already Thursday and I've not even posted since last Saturday.
I actually know what I'm going to do for HNT today, I had the idea on Monday when I was "putting on my face". I'm putting up a pic of Me for HNT.

This is me as of today:

Why post a pic of me for HNT? Because I really don't like the way I look, and I like the way I look in a photograph even less. I feel more than half nekkid posting a pic of my face.

(Ignore the slightly red eyes...I'm cruising through my day with about 4 hours of sleep.)
(And look! Lip color! I Never wear lip color!!! *gasp!* I had to though, I have an owie on my lip to cover up, lol. I picked up the lip balm last Thursday. I've been Wearing it since Saturday when I woke up with said owie on my lip. I'm told it looks good, but I think it's entirely too pink. Pink is my least favorite color, why would I want it on my Face? lol)

BAH

I have 10 minutes to be ready for work, yet the only thing I've done so far is put in my contacts.
Why am I such a BUM!?!?!?!
Oh.
Yeah.
I just HAD to write.
:-P

HAH

I read a lot of really hilarious blogs just about everyday. I LOVE to giggle, laugh, guffaw, in general carry on with much loud merriment as can possibly be gleaned from a day.
'Cause without laughter, what's the point?
Today's loudest guffaw came from going over to
LOD's to catch up on my reading. It's been a few days since I went there. Sorry, LOD, I'm an inconsistant lurker.

There's a reason why January 6 is referred to as the Epiphany; at that point, most people come to the startling revelation that there's a big dead tree in their house, and it's covered in live electrical wires.

A Steak N' Shake Moment

Sis M: "My computer's dead, I have no internet...I'm back in the dark ages!"

Me, waving hands of negation: "No, no, no! You're back in the" *dramatic pause* "20th Century!!!!!" *slow motion collapsing into giggles onto the booth bench*

A Post! With Pics!

I'm planning on this being a quick update.
We'll see.
On a side note, I wonder how likely Hubby would be to quit playing WoW and go get my camera out of the car? Okay, so it's like a one in a million thing, but I'm feeling lazy, and I'm tired, and my back hurts... *quits complaining*

(I asked, and OMGoodness, he said YES!!!!! *faints*)

So, hopefully by the end of this I'll have a snow pic to post. I only took a couple (and they're two shots of the same thing) because it was dark when it started snowing yesterday (and I don't know the water resistance of my camera). Now I wish I'd taken one of one of the bushes in my front yard (the big one that blocks the view of the road when you try to leave my driveway). Even with a flash it would've been nice to have a shot of it. It was loverly. Anyway, I'll download them and see what I've got.

Let's see, when did I post last? Hmm...last Thursday. Hm. What's happened since then? I've taken literally HUNDREDS of photos. Now I need to wade through them all and delete the crap. There's a task I would love to be able to do on a laptop. Sit on the couch with a cuppa of tea and sort and delete. *wistful sigh*
Anyway...

Pics Taken Last Wednesday, the 11th

You can see Civi peeking at me through the fence. You can see Anna, but her head is down sniffing something. See the dirt? Civi's a pacer. Whenever she's out, after she's, you know, done, she paces up and down that section of fence with the gate. As soon as the grass was all dead, it was all gone.

Barren River. I wanted a shot showing the cool trees on my side and some of the bank on the other side. You can see how much higher my bank is than the other side. I'm in no danger of floods. ;-)
(I have a lot of river shots from that day, but I'll be good and only post one)

Introducing Haley! This is my friend Steph's new baby girl. Is she not wonderful? A total cutie! This is her sleeping while Kidzilla is holding her.

A few minutes later she woke up a little and yawned. Awwwww!
(I'm being good again, I have tons of baby pics!)

Pic Taken Thursday, the 12th

Kidzilla at rehearsal. She's an evil character, I'm sure we'll get to quit smiling during her line before the performances, lol. At least, maybe we could make it an evil smile.

Saturday was nice and uneventful. Sunday was good, extra busier than usual due to Kidzilla now having rehearsals on Sundays for combat. Sis M. Kidzilla and I had lunch with my friend Melissa and her hubby and son. A good time was had by all. I have pics from Sunday's rehearsal, but I'll spare you. ;-)

Monday was Hubby birthday. We slept in until Very Late (I won't say the time, to spare Lew the pain, hehehe). We played a lot of WoW and let Kidzilla do whatever she liked. She loved that, lol. We finally arsed ourselves and got ready to actually leave the house. First up was a walk at Riverwalk Park. It's a park near us that the city has been working on since we've lived here (here being our current address). They've done it in stages and just recently completed the latest section. It was nearing dark but I took my camera with me anyway. I hoped to get some good shots of the lights on the old bridge that's been made into part of the park.

A shot of a bridge from part of the newest section of walkway.

Reflection of a nearby streetlight on the river.

Rivets on the bridge. I wish I'd put something next to them for perspective. They're as big as the palm of my hand!

Kidzilla and Hubby on the bridge.

Okay, I think I've made y'all suffer enough, I'll stop with the park pics. ;-)

After our walk we went to have a bite to eat (spicy fingers from Albany's! YUM!), and then saw Narnia. I LOVE NARNIA! I want to see it again! Anyone want to come with? :-D Hubby and Kidzilla really enjoyed it too. :-D It even got Hubby choked up in parts. *sniffles*

After we came home Hubby opened his gift from Kidzilla. Kidzilla has a thing for buying him Yet Another plush thing, so she picked out a wee stuffed Rottweiler and a pillow that looks like a bar of Butterfinger (one of his favorite candies) for him. Both are Very Soft. As a very tactile person, I keep wanting to sleep with his new pillow, hehehe. He didn't want anything as he has his birthday gift sitting on his desk and has for a couple of weeks, but I think he was pleased she wanted to get him something. The gift he's already gotten himself is a 20 inch flatscreen monitor. NICE. Now I want one, lol. What he doesn't know is that I've hidden a birthday card on his desk (it's a DISASTER, he'll find it...one day), and I'm planning on getting a cake and giving him a card and another gift some time this week when I can go out and get one as a surprise. I'd make one, but he's broken and PREFERS what I call fakey cakes. You know, the ones from the bakery in, say, Kroger's with the (what I call) Crisco icing? Yeah. He prefers That over a yummy homemade cake with buttercream icing. He's BROKEN. I blame his mom. ;-) She can't cook and so that's what he got as a kid so now he thinks that's good. Poor guy, lol. I found something Really Cool at Hobby Lobby the other day I'm willing to bet he'll like. :-) So I'm going to get a cake and give him them gift. :-D A post-birthday surprise.
All in all, he spent the day exactly as he wanted, which was the whole point. :-)

Tuesday was a busy day. My second interview was that morning (which went very well, I think), and then I went to work. Then I came home and took the old washer out of the "laundry closet" and took it outside (in the rain! btw, and By MySelf). I found a shirt down behind the old washer I'd worn once and couldn't find so I'd decided I was mental and hadn't really bought it, lol. It's nice to know I'm not crazy! Then I vacuumed and cleaned it all out (even moved the dryer and cleaned behind it since I could). Not 5 minutes after all that Hubby and Scott showed up and heaved our new one in the back door and put the old one in Scott's truck to go toss it. I opened the box and took out the instructions while I waited on Hubby's return. He came home and we put it all together and finagled it where we wanted it to be. For its maiden run I put in our comforter, the biggest thing I own to wash. I LOVE MY NEW WASHER! I couldn't hear it fill, I couldn't hear it wash, and I Really couldn't hear it spin! *dance of glee* On our old one the leveling feet were messed up (had been as long as we'd owned it), and so whenever it would go through the spin cycle it would vibrate the whole house. LITERALLY. And it was So Noisy! Though I told Hubby with a laugh, "How'm I supposed to know when it's done?" hehehe
We finished this just in time for me to run out the door for my audition. By this time the rain had turned to sleet had turned to snow! Lovely!

Snow on the steeple and roof of Eastwood.

I played my Irish Tin Whistle (I played "Sally Gardens") and sang "Tell Your Story". He liked my playing enough to request right then and there that I learn a song to play! :-D I'll know the results of the singing at the end of the month. I would love to be in the women's ensemble with my friend Melissa. Our voices sound like they were made to sing together, it's so cool. :-) She was there that night too so she and I and Sis. M went out for a late dinner, and afterwards just she and I went and had coffee and talked at Starbucks until 11 (when they kicked us out, lol).

Today was a snow day for Kidzilla. She played in the snow this morning 'til there wasn't anymore to play in. It's in the 40's today so the snow didn't last long at all. I didn't take any other photos of the snow than the shot of the steeple yesterday. It was all melted before I got out of house. Oh, well, here's hoping for more snow! I've done a ton of laundry today...gee, I wonder why? lol We did the "church thing" as Hubby calls it, and now Kidzilla's in bed and it's Really Late now that I've been up typing all this! Time for sleep!
